I am delighted to have been appointed Interim Principal of Holy Trinity Lamorbey Church of England Primary School. I feel extremely honoured and privileged to have been selected to continue to build upon the foundations already laid, as well as leading the school forward on to its next stage of development.
HTL is a welcoming Christian community, where children are able to flourish and achieve their full potential within a kind, caring and supportive environment. We will recognise, promote and value equality and diversity and we will encourage an environment conducive to learning that is safe, happy, caring spiritual, and respectful. We will provide a broad and balanced curriculum, focusing on academic achievement, mental and physical wellbeing.
I am looking forward to working closely with the experienced and dedicated team who will continue to nurture and encourage our children to ensure they secure the best possible outcomes. Staff will utilise their skills to assist all children in our care, to recognise their true potential and talents. As a community, we will endeavour to celebrate the successes of our children in all areas of school life. We will do this by showing them that we believe in them, respect them, and are proud of them whilst continuing to encourage a growth mind-set.
We have developed an ambitious, all- rounded curriculum and will continue to build upon the academic results. We will work tirelessly to ensure that every child makes as much progress as they can and that as a school we are working towards exceeding the national attainment levels in all areas. We are acutely aware of the value of learning beyond the classroom and I am committed to building on the children’s cultural capital.
We will encourage children at HTL to be individuals, whilst being an integral part of their class. We will enjoy watching individual personalities blossom as they develop self-confidence, self-esteem and the ability to become part of a wider team. Moreover, our children will be proud to be part of HTL, and we recognise that as individuals they have many different talents and abilities to share and celebrate within our wider community. We fully intend to provide our children with many varied and exciting opportunities to learn in different ways and to achieve high levels of self-esteem through having lots of success.
As a parent myself, I know that bringing up children, especially in today’s world is not an easy task. Together with my team, we will aim to understand and support you in every way that we can, to navigate that sometimes tricky path of being the parent of a primary school aged child. As key educators in your children’s lives, I feel that it is important that you are aware, that your voice is valued and that as a school, we are approachable and will allocate time to listen to your concerns, or thoughts about the school. We will be facilitating termly coffee mornings (dates to follow), in which Parents and Carers can speak to myself and the senior leadership team, to express opinions on what the school is doing well, and or, any areas that may need developing. Rest assured, as Principal, I will strive to create the best education for your child or children as members of our school family.

Dear Parents/Carers,
We are absolutely delighted to share our plans for next week, in what we hope will be a more normal year for everyone. The government has indicated that schools are no longer required to implement certain precautions, but we are still keen to reduce the risk of spreading the virus in school.
From Thursday 2nd September, there will no longer be staggered starts to the school day and parents will now be able to enter and exit the school via the main school gates and the park Glades.
Whilst we are planning for school operations to return to normal when we reopen on 2nd September, there are aspects of current practice, as per the government guidance, which we will retain to minimize risk of Covid transmission. This will include:
• Hygiene controls including the regular washing of hands
• Enhanced cleaning of surfaces
• Ensuring good ventilation
We will, of course, also need your help and support to keep school safe as we return. As such, if your child, or somebody else in your household, has coronavirus symptoms they should stay at home and seek a PCR test.
We will be keeping a close eye out for Government updated guidance for schools and if there are any changes to the above plans, we will communicate these with you.
We recognise that there will be learning gaps to be addressed when pupils return and we have planned a curriculum so that everyone has the chance to continue catching up. We will also ensure there is time devoted to the emotional wellbeing of students through our personal development curriculum. Your child’s class teacher will write to you on our return, to share the exciting work that will take place over the term and to advise you on important information.
On behalf of the entire staff team, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all families for their continued support and partnership throughout the pandemic. Despite the challenges we have faced, we have come through the other end hopefully as an even stronger community.

Nursery
Pupils in Reception will attend their induction sessions as previously communicated, after which they will be expected to arrive at school between 8.45am and 8.55am and the gates will close at 9am for registration.
Children attending the morning Nursery session should arrive at 8:30am and be collected at 11:30am, and children attending the afternoon Nursery session should arrive at 12:30pm and be collected at 3:30pm.
Class teachers will be at the door ready to meet the children as they enter.
Reception to Year 6
All pupils will be expected to arrive at school at 8.45am and the gates will close at 9am for registration. Parents will be expected to supervise children in the playground until 8:55 when children will be met at their respective classes by their class teachers.
We will also be removing the staggered ends to the day. For pupils in Reception and Key Stage One (Years 1 and 2), the school day will end at 3.15pm, and for Key Stage Two (Years 3-6), the school day will end at 3.20pm. All children will be dismissed from the main playground outside their classrooms.
